In recent years, Petro has been lowering carbon emissions, and helping customers do it, too, by delivering Bioheat®, a blend of renewable biodiesel and ultra-low sulfur heating oil and more eco-friendly alternative to traditional heating fuel and natural gas.

In 2023, our Bioheat® fuel helped remove 170,431 metric tons of carbon emissions, and to date in 2024, we have helped remove 248,440 metric tons of carbon emissions from the atmosphere . That’s the equivalent of eliminating the carbon emissions of 2,730 round trip flights from Boston to London or 49,668 cars driving 22 miles per gallon annually.
