Ductless mini-split systems are more commonly known as home cooling systems but these, compact, quiet and energy-efficient units also contain heat pumps, making them the ideal solution to heat and cool your home all year round!
How does a ductless mini-split heat pump work?
The system uses electricity to move heat from one place to another instead of using that energy to generate heat directly like traditional heating systems. A low-pressure liquid refrigerant is vaporized in the heat pump’s evaporator and passed into the compressor. As the pressure of the refrigerant increases, so does its temperature. The heated refrigerant runs through a condenser coil within the storage tank, transferring heat to the water stored there.
Because these systems are compact, they provide more flexibility on heating specific areas of your home, which can prove more economical than switching on a regular heating system, that pumps heat throughout the home. Ductless mini-split systems also function as air filters in your home, come with humidity controls and a wireless remote, including timer options, for convenient and easy control.
